Piano tuition

Natasha is a professional piano teacher with 12 years’ experience teaching piano one-on-one and to small groups. She teaches kids and adults from 4 – 80 years old, with repertoire taught including classical, jazz and popular music. She teaches beginner up to grade 8 level, and also teaches music theory grades 1-8. She has knowledge of the ABRSM and trinity syllabuses and can teach the practical and performance syllabus, including tuition for online exams. Whilst there is a lot of focus on exams in extracurricular music tuition, she also appreciates music can be taught without an exam focus, for enjoyment which she does for a large number of her students. She has a gentle but firm approach, and expects her students to practice daily to achieve their full potential, including scales, sight reading, theory and finger exercises.

Practical points

Natasha travels to the homes of her students and is flexible on time and day. She has an enhanced DBS certificate, public liability insurance and is a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians.

Natasha charges £22 per 30 minutes of lesson time, with a recommendation for beginners and younger students to have this length, and older/more advanced students to have 45 minutes (£33) or 1 hour of tuition each week (£44). Time with the teacher is important, especially with more complex repertoire and this cannot be compensated for with more practice.

Natasha’s cancellation policy asks that 48 hours’ notice is given for cancellation, otherwise 50% of the lesson fee is payable, and with only 24 hours’ notice, the full lesson fee is payable. This is waived in the event of serious illness. Lessons charged termly or monthly have the lesson dates fixed, so cannot be rolled over. In the event of Natasha being ill, the lesson will be rescheduled.

Natasha’s Testimonials

Helen

Natasha is brilliant with my 8 year old daughter. Patient, kind, super musical and knowledgeable, and gets the best out of her every week. I don’t even have to mention practice, she does it off her own back as she enjoys it so much and wants to show Natasha what she’s done!

My 9 year old daughter has been having online piano lessons for the last few weeks and has made great progress in that time. Natasha is calm, patient and explains things very clearly for my daughter to understand. She gives positive feedback and gently encourages my daughter about what she needs to do next.

Natasha has been giving my 2 daughters (aged 7 and 9) piano lessons for nearly 2 years. Natasha tailors the lessons to their individual interests whilst gently encouraging them to try more challenging pieces and introducing them to basic music theory. Natasha shows great patience with her pupils and my daughters always look forward to seeing her.
